Neighborhoods
Rising Fund

A little fund goes a long way.

The Neighborhoods Rising Fund (NRF) is a grant program for revitalizing neighborhoods.

The Neighborhoods Rising Fund (NRF) is a collaborative grant program that provides funding for high-impact, innovative community projects and neighborhood revitalization initiatives. The most recent round of funding was awarded in Spring 2023 and deployed $239,430 in funding into Kansas City neighborhoods for community-led revitalization projects. NRF helps build stronger, better-connected and more effective neighborhood organizations in low- to moderate-income areas. To date, selected projects and initiatives have ranged from public safety and cleanup initiatives to property and public space improvements, and identity-building and resource-sharing events. Since 2015, NRF has awarded 341 grants to neighborhood organizations across the Greater Kansas City MSA, totaling $1.1 million. These projects have leveraged over 75,000 combined volunteer hours and have engaged nearly 113,000 participants (residents and stakeholders) during this time.

Administered by the Community Capital Fund (CCF), the NRF is a funding collaborative that provides grants for high-impact, innovative community projects and neighborhood revitalization initiatives, which help build stronger, better connected, and more effective neighborhood organizations in low- to moderate-income areas, now throughout Greater Kansas City. For information about the NRF email info@ccfkansascity.org

“It is encouraging to see so many neighborhood organizations seeking to create better connections that improve quality of life and support the basic needs of neighbors everywhere. We know from our Make Every Block Better community impact platform how powerful connections can be for neighborhoods and small businesses, in Kansas City and nationwide, and we’re excited to see the Neighborhoods Rising Fund grantees bring these projects to life.”

— Jeff Jones, H&R Block president and CEO
